Bristol Zoo Initiative Update Breakfast

Update from Bristol Zoo on their future development of the Really Wild Place

We were delighted to welcome Initiative Members to Bristol Zoo on February 10th, for an Initiative Member Breakfast, to hear about their exciting new plans to relocate to the Wild Place site and open the new Bristol Zoo in 2024.

50 members enjoyed breakfast and networking before hearing from Dr Justin Morris, Chief Executive of Bristol Zoological Society, who updated us on the latest plans for the new Bristol Zoo, and what this will mean for the wider community.

Since Bristol Zoo Gardens first opened its gates to the public in 1836, it has welcomed more than 90 million visitors and helped to save around 175 species from extinction through conservation work in the UK and across the world.

Justin explained that the new Bristol Zoo will have conservation, education and sustainability at its heart and that there will be ample opportunity for members and the wider public to engage with the current Clifton site before its official closure on the 3rd of September 2022.
